Royal Jordanian is one of the leading airlines in the Levant region, focusing on providing the best service and travel experience to all its travellers.
As an airline and a National Carrier, we recognize the significant impact that our operations can have on the environment, and we are committed to conducting our business in a sustainable and responsible manner to minimize our environmental footprint.
One of our strategic goals is to reduce the impact on the environment to the greatest extent possible whilst being an active contributor to the sustainable development of Jordan's economy.
To achieve our goal of environmental sustainability, we are committed to:
- Complying with all applicable environmental laws, rules, regulations, and other obligations through regular monitoring, measurement, and reporting of our emissions and other actions that have an environmental impact.
- Reducing pollution and protecting the natural environment from the impact of our domestic and international flight operations.
- Enhancing our Environmental Management System (EMS) and continuing to improve the company's environmental performance.
- Integrate environmental sustainability requirements into our business planning and strategy.
In the pursuit of meeting our commitments, we will continue our efforts to:
- Improve the use of resources (materials, processes, equipment, and facilities).
- Modernize our fleet and improve fuel efficiency.
- Manage and improve energy consumption in the organization.
- Minimize the generation of waste and noise.
- Minimize the use of hazardous material and generation of hazardous waste.
- Recycle materials and enhance the use of recycled products.
- Raise awareness and promote the training of employees and stakeholders on our Environmental Policy.
At Royal Jordanian, we take environmental responsibility seriously. We are dedicated to minimizing our impact on the planet while supporting Jordan’s growth. From reducing pollution to managing energy consumption, we are on a sustainable journey. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we will continue to set ambitious targets and measure our progress toward them.
Since protecting the environment is a shared responsibility, we will communicate our environmental policy to our employees, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders; demonstrating our leadership and commitment, we will work collaboratively with them to achieve our global sustainability objectives.
